Look who's upright

Paige started pulling herself up this month and is quite pleased with herself.



Increasingly, she's doing this on her own. Tonight we saw her take a step while hanging on to the couch. That was it. One step. But hey. One step was a big thing on the moon.

Here Paige gets into her favorite thing in the entire world: The dishwasher. You can see she's already pulling herself up at this point.



About the same time, she stood at Claire's play table, causing problems.



We're about as proud as she is.




Meanwhile, over at Effros Baby Blog, Lila is learning to sign, too.

Gymnastics

Mom and Paige have been taking Claire to gymnastics every week. The big girl of the house loves it. She now does a handstand while crawling up the wall with her feet and attempts cartwheels. Oh, and jumping jacks.

I have not seen this class, but mom kindly shot some video. Here's a warmup:



That's Claire standing to the left of the instructor in the dark shirt.

Below, Claire is harder to spot. She's the one in the dark shirt who hops, then runs, across the mat. OK, so she's not following instructions like her father. She's still having fun!



Here Claire jumps with an instructor on the trampoline. This is her favorite thing. Granny, cover your eyes. Claire jumps high.




The last video shows Claire navigating the gym's "obstacle course." She stops midway to tidy up the course. The last two exercises seem like mere kicks, but they apparently are designed to prepare her for handstands and cartwheels.

Reading by Skype

Claire and Sophie got on Skype together the other day and perused a couple books.



Eventually, Sophie's dad read for all our benefit. What a modern, devoted dad.
